Storage Agreement
Clear terms for collection, storage, billing and return delivery.

1. About this agreement
This Storage Agreement applies to storage services provided by Tokyo Cheap Moves (TCM). It works together with our general Terms & Conditions. If a storage-specific term in this agreement differs from the general Terms & Conditions, this Storage Agreement applies to the storage service.
2. Storage service
TCM will collect, transport and store the items listed or described in your booking. Storage is provided according to the plan selected at booking and continues until a return delivery is arranged and completed. Your estimated storage duration is for planning only and does not create an automatic end date.
Stored items remain under TCM control while in storage. Customers do not have direct access to the storage facility. Access, handling, additional pickup and return delivery must be arranged through TCM.
3. Charges & billing
Your first invoice may include pickup, prorated storage for the starting month and the next full month of storage, as shown in your quote. After that, storage is billed monthly in advance. Monthly storage is billed in advance on the 1st of each month.
Your storage plan and monthly rate are the rates shown in your confirmed booking unless later changed by agreement. Additional pickups, plan changes, special handling, delivery or other requested services may be charged separately.
4. Final month & return delivery
To end storage, you must submit a return delivery request through the TCM storage portal at least 3 days in advance, or contact us so a return can be arranged. Return dates are subject to availability and must be confirmed by TCM.
Storage is billed by calendar month. If your return delivery falls into a new billing month, an additional month of storage may apply. If TCM delivery availability affects your requested return date or causes the return to fall into a new billing month, any additional storage charge will be reviewed and assessed by our team. A member of staff will contact you to arrange the best available return date and confirm any applicable charges.
The final payment may include storage for the applicable billing month, the return delivery fee and any outstanding charges. Storage does not end merely because an estimated duration has passed.
5. Plan changes & additional items
If you add items or require more storage space, your plan or charges may need to change. Where a larger plan is required during a billing period, the increase may take effect immediately and any applicable difference may be charged for the affected period. A reduction in storage requirements does not create a refund for storage already billed; a lower plan normally applies from the next eligible billing period.
6. Items we cannot store
You must not place prohibited, unsafe or unlawful items into storage. This includes illegal goods, firearms or ammunition, explosives, flammable or hazardous materials, live animals, perishable food, stolen property, or anything that may damage other property or create a health or safety risk. If you are unsure about an item, please ask us before collection.
7. Packing & condition of items
Items should be suitably packed for transport and storage. Fragile items should be clearly identified. Customer-packed boxes cannot always be inspected, so TCM is not responsible for damage caused by inadequate packing, concealed defects, deterioration, mould, pests, leaking contents, or pre-existing weakness.
Please tell us before collection about unusually fragile, valuable, oversized or sensitive items so suitable handling can be discussed.
8. Care of your belongings
TCM will take reasonable care of your belongings while they are being transported, handled and stored. If accidental loss or damage occurs as a direct result of our negligence, please contact us promptly so the circumstances can be reviewed and a fair resolution discussed.
Normal ageing, wear, temperature or humidity sensitivity, deterioration of materials, mechanical failure and damage arising from an item’s own condition are not treated as handling damage.
9. Payments & overdue accounts
Invoices must be paid by the due date shown. If an account becomes overdue, TCM may pause additional pickups, changes or return delivery until outstanding charges are settled. If storage fees remain unpaid for an extended period, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you using the details provided.
If we are unable to contact you and substantial charges remain unpaid, TCM may take reasonable steps available under applicable law to recover amounts due and deal with uncollected property. We will not dispose of stored belongings without first making reasonable efforts to contact you and resolve the account.
10. Contact details & changes
You are responsible for keeping your email address and other contact details current while your belongings are in storage. Please tell us as soon as possible if your plans, item list, delivery destination or expected timing changes. Delivery estimates may change if the final destination, access conditions or service requirements differ from the information originally provided.
11. Acceptance
By confirming your storage booking, you confirm that the information you supplied is accurate, that you have read and understood this Storage Agreement, and that you agree to the storage terms shown here together with the Tokyo Cheap Moves Terms & Conditions.
